Dan and Cindy Hoisington and their three sons arrive in Sapporo to receive language and culture training at the OMF language school.

Stephanie Schatz joins the Hoisingtons in Sapporo to attend language school as well.

The team decided to transition to Fukuoka after training is complete, since Kyushu has the most need for church planting and appears to be a strategic base for sending out more teams. Miriam Davis (the OMF language coordinator) introduces Dan to the JECA church planting committee president.

Brian and Yoko Broaddus and their three daughters join the team in Sapporo. They officially become the “Pioneers Fukuoka Team.”

The Hoisingtons and Broadduses arrive in Fukuoka.

Stephanie attends her first KGK event. This opens doors for ongoing connection between the Fukuoka team and KGK.

Brian Tom attends his first KGK event, where he was introduced to his future wife, Nozomi.

After a three month home assignment, Brian Tom returns to Fukuoka as a long term missionary and full fledged member of the Fukuoka team.

The Broaddus family moves to Kurume city to begin an internship at Kurume Bible Church.

Nozomi begins her music teaching career at Seinan Jr. High School. She joins Fukuoka Bible Church.

The Hoisingtons leave Japan and Brian Broaddus becomes the new Fukuoka team leader.

Steve and Emma Franklin move to Kurume to explore the possibility to starting a Saga team.

Brian Tom and Nozomi are married. Nozomi goes through Pioneers training to join the team.

Brian Tom signs his first 2-year contract to be a full time staff member at Fukuoka Bible Church alongside Pastor Inoue, Emi-san, and Stephanie.

The idea of sending out new teams becomes more concrete as the Fukuoka team develops a culture program, called the Kyushu Ministry Center (KMC). Steve and Emma Franklin move to Fukuoka to focus on the KMC.

Area Leaders, Scott and Susan Murray, catch the vision for the KMC, and become the new leaders for the revised training program, which is renamed Launch. Steve and Emma Franklin join the Murrays on the Launch Servant Team.

Brian Broaddus, wishing to focus on other work in Kurume, steps down as leader of the Fukuoka Team. Brian Tom becomes the new Fukuoka Team leader.
